   Keyboard is the basic and fundamental input device of a computer. There are many keys on the keyboard by pressing these keys we can give command to the computer.

Control unit is the main parts of the CPU. It is used to control and manage all the activities of the computer system.

   Printer is the basic output device that is used to print the output on the paper so the output given by the printer is known as hard copy output. eg. Dot Matrix printer, Laser printer, Inkjet printer.

Ans: A set of instructions given to the computer to solve problems or to control different operations of the computer is known as computer software. Computer doesn't perform any task itself we have to give instructions to do any task in the computer.

Ans: A system software is a set of one or more programs that directs the internal operation of the computer system. Operating system software and Language processor are the types of system software.
c) What is application software? Write the name of two application package.
Ans: The types of software, which are designed to perform specific task for users are called application software. This types of software are created specially according to user's needs.

Ans: In the new slide, some dotted text boxes will appear that are called Placeholders in which you can add text, pictures and charts.
To change the size of placeholder you have to select the placeholder and place the mouse pointer at one corners of  the box. Then the mouse pointer changes to two headed arrow. Then drag it to the required side.

Ans: A number system is the basic element to present the actual number or value and express the quantities. Decimal number system was developed by Hindu Philosopher.
b) What is binary number System? Write its base value.
Ans: The binary number system is a method of representing numbers that counts by using combinations of only two numerals or symbol: zero (0) and one (1). Binary number system use only 2 digits 0 and 1 so its base value is two.
c) Write the digits and symbols used by hexadecimal number system.

a) What is Ms paint? Explain the different parts of ms paint program.

Ans: Ms Paint is the common and popular drawing and painting programs developed by Microsoft Corporation.

The different parts of Ms Paint Programs are as follows.

Title bar:

     It is the horizontal bar located at the top most part of the paint program window.

Menu bar:

     Just below the title bar there is a menu bar where we can see several menus such as: File, Edit, View, Image, etc. Each menu contains several commands.

Drawing Area

     Just below the menu bar there is a white blank space on the window called drawing area where we can draw and colour pictures.

Tool Box

In ms paint window we can see two small boxes on the left of the drawing area called tool box with the help of this tool box we can draw different picture and colour it.

At the bottom of the drawing area you can see a small box with different colour. By selecting different colour we can colour our picture according to our need.


b) What is the use of color box and tool box?

In ms paint window we can see two small boxes on the left of the drawing area called tool box with the help of this tool box we can draw different picture and colour it.

At the bottom of the drawing area you can see a small box with different colour. By selecting different colour we can colour our picture according to our need.

Ans: There are three options for drawing shapes. These options appear just below the shapes on the toolbox they are:

1. If you select the first option, you can draw only outline of shape.

2. If you select the second option, you can draw outline of a shape with filling color inside.

3. If you select the third option, you can draw colored shapes without outline.

d) What is the use of undo and repeat feature?

Ans:    Undo command erases the last change done to the drawing reverting it to an older state. Repeat is a function performed on a ms paint that does any undo function again.

e) What is computer graphics? List any four graphics software.
Computer graphics is the visual representation of image data created by using special hardware and software.
Eg. Ms-Paint, Adobe Photoshop, Freehand, Corel Draw etc.
